Adopting Buddy

Today was the happiest day of life! My family is going to adopt a new dog. I was as
It was a cold winter day. My family and I were headed to Pennsylvania to go to the Dog Breeder to adopt a cute, little puppy. My mom and my brother agreed on getting a Pug. My brother showed me some pictures of Pugs on the Internet a week before we actually decided to get a puppy. They were all so cute and right then and there that I wanted a Pug. This breed would be perfect for our “special” family. So here we are sitting in the car, headed to adopt a new dog.
While we were driving there, I asked my parents if I could name the puppy, “Mom, Dad can I please, please name the new dog? I promise it’ll be a good name that everybody will love!” I figured my parents would let since I am the youngest in the family.
“Reva, you can name the dog whatever you want, as long as it’s not in my way,” my dad notified me. He’s not a very big fan of dogs.
After about ten minutes, we reached at the Breeders. It looked like a farm to me. There were all kinds of animals: dogs, cats, cows, and pigs.
“Look Mom. Look at all those cows,” I could tell my brother was very excited! Probably even more steamed up than I was.
An old, friendly lady came out of a small room with a little puppy. I think it was her own dog because it definitely not a Pug!
“Hello darling!” The nice lady greeted us with a warm smile.
“Hi, we would like to adopt a Pug today,” my dad said as nicely as he could. The lady nodded and led to the room she came out of. There was a whole bunch of little cute puppies in a pent. My mom and I were so amaze4d at how the puppies got hyper and excited when someone new showed up.
One puppy that I saw stood out to me the most. I was watching his every little move. He seemed the most hyper to me out of the pack of Pugs. My brother saw me looking at this particular puppy, and I think he was thinking the same thing I was. We exchanged mischievous looks. I could tell we were going to have a lot of fun with this puppy.
“Hey Mom, can we get this one?” My brother pleaded to my mom. “Reva and I want this one! We think he’d be perfect,” my brother exclaimed with hope. My mom looked at me and I gave her my puppy dog eyes. Then, when my mom looked at my dad for approval, he agreed.
“Excuse me, Miss. We would like to adopt this one,” my dad said pointing to the very hyper one.
“Of course, I’ll get him right out.” The breeder looked at me and I nodded with total agreement. As the puppy came out in the lady’s arms, he would not stay still. He kept on squealing trying to get out. I was the first one in the family to hold him! He liked my face and I smiled.
“Can I hold him now?” My brother asked me. I nodded and handed the new puppy to him.
“Thank you so much and have a good time with him!” The breeder smiled at us and waved.
In the car, the new puppy was sitting in the middle of my brother and me. I was trying to think of names for him. After about five minutes, it came to me… BUDDY!
“Mom, Dad, I got it! Buddy.” I exclaimed. My parents looked at each and then me. I think they agreed to it.
When we got home, it was one o’clock am. I was so tired and all I wanted to do was sleep with Buddy. I brought him upstairs to my roomand we cuddled and slept.
